A long time ago, in a faraway land...
When Reede was a young guardian of his village, strange men appeared from a foreign shore and stole a sacred relic from his people. Chasing down these 'samurai' into their native land, Reede was almost killed by one of their number, but was instead taken in as their student. With both seeking revenge against the thieves, defeat seemed impossible--but then his new mentor turned on Reede with the promise of greater riches, and left him for dead.Rescued by a wandering mercenary, Reede took up a new blade--that of the gunbreaker--and still works to chase down those who have robbed and betrayed him. But a search like that takes money, and thankfully, there's always a paying need for a swordsman who knows what he's doing.
